"It is far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price, than a fair company at a wonderful price."- Warren Buffett
With that being said, it is often difficult to assess the options available, when it comes to making a safe investment. Even wonderful companies have their troubles in the market, and even a fair price may turn into a fair amount of loss, on an investment. There are no high yield investments in the open marketplace, that are completely safe from a measure of risk, so it's best to do some homework; before investing.
Investors should consider looking into reputable companies that offer a fair-priced initial investment, that generate a higher-than-average and consistent return. The risks still have to measured, as with any investment, and some investment research before-hand; will help narrow down the options. Most importantly, investors should look for companies and industries, with a long history of consistent returns. As well, seek-out information about the best safe investment opportunities, and identify those that are well-established in profitable marketplaces and that are projected to grow; well into the future. The global shipping industry for example, has always experienced growth, that was relevant to increases; in the world's population. It is economically tied to it. At the moment, the world population is growing, and consumer demand is growing right along with it.
Private investors will be pleased to know, that there are a plethora of investment opportunities available to them, in the shipping industry. From the building and modification of shipping ports and infrastrucure and technology upgrades, to the building of mega-cargo ships and shipping container investing, investment is needed to maintain the consistent flow of cargo; to international ports. More consumers means an increase in demand for goods, which means bigger ships and more shipping containers are needed, to accommodate the growth. In fact, in 2011 a sharp rise in the demand for cargo container, caught the shipping industry and manufacturers completely off-guard; and created a profitable investment opportunity for shipping container investors.
